In our home, we started the new year with just the right amount of dread to withstand the third year of the pandemic, raising two young children, while also taking on a busy workload. Needless to say, we’re not planning a dry January! No, 2022 is the year of evaluation, leaning toward achievable goals, and celebrating passage.

The same can be said about cooking in the kitchen. I’m all for meal plans. In fact, they are what gets us through the week. But sometimes all you need is the comfort of home. Around this time of year, of course there should be room for light food, but for goodness sake, we’re still in the depths of winter. We need a space for indulgence and luxury.
